Aimee Maguire: Ireland Spinner prohibited by ICC for illegal bowling action

“As a result, according to clause 6.1 of the regulations, Aimee is immediately suspended from the bowling in the International Cricket,” added the ICC.

“Its suspension will remain in force until it undergoes a reevaluation of its bowling action that confirms that it can play with legal action.”

Maguire did not play in the remaining two games of an Ireland in India and the Cricket Ireland said he was then giving him “full support.”

“The staff and players are gathering around Aimee, assuring him that he will return with a stronger action and continue to shine on the international stage for many years,” said Cricket High Performance Director Ireland, Graeme West on January 11 .

The teenager made her international debut in 2023 and has 20 caps for Ireland, taking 25 wickts between formats.

BBC Sport has not been contacted with Cricket Ireland for an answer.
