It is said that Infosys publishes annual offers of wage walk at the end of March

It is said that Infosys, one of the main IT services companies in India, publishes annual salary increase letters to its employees at the end of March. People familiar with the matter told Economic Times, the company is currently working to finish compensation reviews based on performance reviews and recommendations of their delivery units.

Shaji Mathew, Director of Human Resources at Infosys, recently addressed employees during a City Council meeting at the Bengaluru campus. He shared that employees at the level of work 5 (JL5) are already receiving their salary walks from January 1. Those at work level 6 (JL6) and higher will have their reviewed salaries that begin from April 1.

Mathew also indicated that performance ratings have already been informed of employees, and these evaluations will play a crucial role in determining the percentage of individual salary increases. However, it did not specify details about the general evaluation cycle period.

Last year, Infosys did not issue compensation letters in June for walks from April, a practice followed in previous years. The company’s last salary review occurred in November 2023 after a salary freezing during fiscal year 22 to conserve cash. The evaluation cycle was restarted in October 2023, with salary review cards issued in December for that cycle.

This new announcement is aligned with the previous comments made by the financial director of Infosys, Jayesh Sanghrajka, during the company’s profit call last month. Sanghrajka had mentioned that employees in India could expect a salary increase of 6-8 percent, while those abroad would see more modest walks in line with the previous trends. He added that the best results could expect larger increases.

The company is likely to implement salary increases in two phases, one from January 1 and another of April 1. Higher level employees in the JL6 category and will see their salary increases linked to Infosys’ income yield.
