The palace emerges from links to legal actions taken against Sara

Manila, Philippines – Malacanang moved away on Thursday from any participation in any legal action against Vice President Sara Duterte, insisting that he will not intervene with any investigation or procedure.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin made the comments on a reaction to the serious threats and inciting the sedition charges presented by the National Office of Research (NBI) before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against Duterte.

“We are aware of that, but we are going to let the process continue alone. Because it is a criminal investigation, the Department of Justice will have the greatest autonomy. We cannot give instructions regarding these matters.” Bersamin said in an interview.

“We will leave that in the hands of the researchers. This process will go through the full course,” he added.

The complaints of the NBI emerged from the diatribe loaded with an expletives of Duterte last November, where he claimed to have hired someone to kill President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., the first lady Liza Araneta-Marcos and the speaker Martin Romualdez if something happened to her.

Dutearte last week again denied the accusation.

Meanwhile, the head of presidential legal advice Juan Ponce Enrile, in a Facebook publication, said that Duterte’s statement “has serious underlying implications” and “carries the main key elements of a criminal case.”

“Although no criminal charge could be done at this time against Sara for his statement mentioned before because it is conditional, both parties must be careful to prevent evil third parties from taking advantage of it for their personal benefits, whatever they may be. This is. A humble suggestion, “said Enrile.
