Atiqul, 5 leaders when landing in jail in the case of crimes against humanity

The International Crimes Court (ICT) ordered to send the former mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Atiqul Islam and five leaders of the Awami League to jail after showing them arrested in a case presented on crimes against humanity.

The Bank of the Court of Justice MD Goam Mortuza Mozumder and Mohitul Hue am in love chowdhury issued the order today (February 17).

The court also scheduled on March 9 for the presentation of the case investigation report.

The BM Sultan Mahmud and Gazi Monawar Hossain Tamim prosecutors represented the Prosecutor’s Office during the Hearing. They were accompanied by prosecutors Gazi Mizanur Islam, Abdus Sobhan Tarafdar, Moinul Karim and Saimum Reza.

On February 11, Atiqul and the other five leaders of the Awami League were produced before the Court in relation to alleged crimes against humanity committed in the Uttara area during the massive uprising last year. The court sent them to jail.

The five leaders of the Awami League are MD Shahinur Mia, Secretary of Education of the Ustara East Than Unit of the Party; Manowar Islam Chowdhury Robin, president of Utara West Thana Unit; Abdullah Al Mamun Mondol, organizing secretary of Gazipur Metropolitan UNT; MD Bashir Uddin, president of the Unit of Sector 6 of Uttara; Delwar Hossain Rubel, president of the Unit of the Jubo League of Barrio 1 Bajo Dhaka Metropolitan North.
