The JBL Quantum Stream talk is very elegant for a microphone of its price. It is compact, with a complete circular plastic base with a small foam ring to help keep it in its desk.

It has a simple stem design, with a cylindrical metal column and a small plastic capsule connected by a ball joint that allows 360 degrees to be turned. It also joins the column and the capsule with a short wire with an orange and black braided that introduces a subtle color splash.

At the end of the capsule there is a translucent ring illuminated by a LED. This is a brilliant green by default, putting red when the microphone is silenced. The option to mitigate or even turn off this light would be appreciated, but it is not particularly intrusive in any way.

At the base, you will find a gray JBL logo and an adjustment dial. It is a good size and can be used to adjust the volume of monitoring headphones when connected to a 3.5 mm headphone connector in the rear. You can also press down to quickly silence the microphone, or stay for a few seconds to adjust the microphone gain, indicated by the MIC LED that turns purple. Outside the box, I was not impressed by their performance: the recordings sounded outdated with a flat, almost nasal quality.
