Brendan Gallagher has a goal and an assistance in the 5-2 Canadiens victory over the senators

Ottawa, Ontario (AP) -Brendan Gallagher had a goal and an assistance, Sam Montembeault made 25 salvages and the Montreal Canadiens beat the Senators of Ottawa 5-2 on Saturday night.

Cole Caufield, Patrick Laine, Josh Anderson and Juroj Slafkovsky also scored for the Canadians. Nick Suzuki had two assists.

Tim Stutzle extended his streak of points to nine games with a goal and an assistance for Ottawa. Jake Sanderson had the other goal.

Linus Ullmark began in the goal for Ottawa, but was taken in the middle of the second period after allowing five goals in 15 shots. It was replaced by Anton Forsberg, who stopped the 10 shots he faced.

Canadiens: The Canadians broke a three -game losing streak and extended the Senators’ skate to four.

Senators: Senators have allowed five goals in each of their last three games and 19 goals in general in the last four.

Key moment

Nineinueve seconds after Stutzle tied it, Laine scored in a remaining power game in the second period to give Montreal a 3-2 advantage.
