Gary Hough has launched Campion Group including the limit and estimates that 5,000 seagulls fly over the city during the summer.

The 62 -year -old told the Daily mail The problem is “worsen all the time.”

“I have lived here for nine years and has never been so bad,” he said.

“We cannot sit outside, our exterior cars and furniture are constantly covered with waste from the seagull and I have found that the lamb and chicken bones have landed in my car and in my garden.”

He said: “We are having this continuous problem every minute of each day.”

Gary added that he and his neighbors can no longer sit in their gardens or hang the washing, and said they have to “constantly” clean their cars and homes.

Board waste contract

The problem has arisen since the Lancashire County Council signed a contract with Suez Recycling and Recovery, which eliminates residual waste on behalf of 12 districts in a site in Whitney Hill.

As things are, each municipality has a waste transfer station before the garbage is transported to the site.

Gary’s group is not asking for a sacrifice of seagulls, but a suspension of waste discharge before it can be transferred.

She said more and more trucks are getting to the tip worsen the matter.

The Grengate Builders merchants manager, Rob Ross, 40, said the waste from the seagull had damaged their stock, adding that the amount of waste is “a health risk and very anti -hygienic for staff.”

In July, the Operations Manager of the landfills of Suez, Richard Phillips, told the Lancashire Telegraph The company was “deploying each measure … to mitigate the number of seagulls in the area.”

He apologized for the inconvenience and added that the increase in seagulls after the migration of the birds inside after the Covid pandemic.
