15 -year -old child seriously injured in accidental shots

A 15 -year -old boy has serious injuries after an accidental shooting on Saturday, according to the Captain of the Elyria Police Department, Bill Lantz.

Police was called to Melvyn Lane’s block in Elyria for a shooting reports at 3:37 pm

Lantz said that upon arrival, the officers entered the house and found the teenager with a gunshot wound.

The doctors responded to the scene and gave medical care.

The teenager was taken to the Medical Center of the Elyria University Hospital, but then transferred to the Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.

Lantz said that a preliminary investigation discovered that the shooting seems to be accidental.

This shooting remains under investigation.
