Ordered probe in a failed caesarean section that left the surgical mop in the woman’s abdomen

A woman in the Dakshina Kannada putur underwent emergency surgery to eliminate a surgical traper that remained inside her abdomen after a birth in caesarean section. The foreign body, which was supposedly dismissed as a hematoma by the operational doctor, led to a severe infection that extended to the lungs and other organs of women, putting their lives at risk.

The woman’s husband, Gagandeep B, claimed that although the mop was recovered from his body, the doctor who made the caesarean section refused to accept responsibility or provide compensation. “When we confront it, it ruled out our concerns and told us that the problem would be solved on its own. Later, when we asked for compensation, he said that “some money would throw us” and refused to recognize the suffering we suffered, “he wrote on social networks.

He described the test as physically and emotionally devastating, added that his livelihood as a farmer suffered. “I lost my crops because I could not attend to my farm during this crisis. We suffer immensely for months, ”he added.

According to Gagandeep, the woman gave birth to her son through a caesarean section on November 27, 2024, in a private hospital and was discharged on December 2. A week later, he developed a high fever and, despite multiple visits to the hospital, his doctor only prescribed medications and no other exam. The couple insisted on an ultrasound after severe discomfort persisted on one side of the woman’s stomach and found a mass of 10 cm. The ultrasound technician supposedly refused to reveal details to the couple, and the operational doctor dismissed him as a bruise, stating that he would dissolve over time.

Once the woman’s fever decreased, the couple returned for a review, but discovered that the dough had not reduced their size. During this visit, the doctor supposedly told them that the Mass would take time to dissolve. As the days passed, the condition of the woman got worse. He experienced severe pain in the joints and legs, which made it difficult to stop, walk or even lift his baby to feed.

A computerized tomography, performed after the derivation to another hospital, confirmed the presence of a surgical traper within its stomach. By then, the infection had spread to their lungs, blood and other organs, putting its life at a serious risk. Emergency surgery was performed on January 25, 2025 to eliminate the foreign body, after which it remained hospitalized until February 15.

The district’s health and family welfare officer, recursonic Thimmaiah, announced that a team of six officials of officials and doctors would investigate the case.
