BC CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FULL After the fall of the trees kills the worker

Worksafebc has fined a construction company after a mortality in the workplace.

It happened on a forest service road in the Beaton area, east of Revelstoke at the BC West Kootenay.

Crescent Bay Construction received a fine of $ 8,995.26 on January 23, whose notice was recently published on the Worksafebc website. However, the guardian dog notice does not say when the incident occurred.

According to the notice, the worker was doing maintenance work on a bridge cover when a tree fell off a cliff face, hitting the employee who later suffered fatal injuries.

“Worksafebc’s research determined that the company did not adequately identify the danger of dangerous trees or evaluate the risks they presented to workers,” says the warning.

“The company did not carry out a dangerous tree evaluation by a qualified person before the work began and the health and safety of all workers in the workplace, both high -risk violations.”

In an email to CBC News, Worksafebc said it is in the process of verifying the reports of privacy concerns before you can release more information.

“It is important to keep in mind that no amount or penalty prayer can compensate for the loss of lives,” said email.

CBC News contacted Crescent Bay Construction to comment, but did not receive an answer before the publication deadline.
