Elias Pettersson receives a violent reaction about recent comments.

It has been a difficult year for the Vancouver striker Canucks, Elias Pettersson, with Pettersson being in a controversy close to the season that would eventually result in the former teammate JT Miller being changed to the New York Rangers.

Pettersson’s production has fallen from a cliff this season with Pettersson registering only 11 goals and 24 assists, a total of only 35 points in 51 games. The previous season he saw him record 89 points in 82 games, and the previous one saw him register 102 points in just 80 games.

The Canucks expected Pettersson to find their game once Miller was changed to the Rangers, hoping that the highly publicized dispute between the two players would have been the main source of Pettersson’s struggles.

Unfortunately, since he returned from the rest of the four nations confrontation, Pettersson has continued to fight, registering only one point, an assistance, in his 2 games from the break and with a more less than -1 qualification on those two competitions. In a matter of things, Pettersson’s mental strength was questioned by Canucks chief coach Rick Tocchet, on Sunday after the Canucks suffered a defeat at the hands of the Utah hockey club.

“I think he’s waiting for something. I don’t know if it’s a lack of confidence in his shot … I don’t know if it’s a mental block at this time, all year, but he has to move his feet.” Tocchet said According to Canucks Ian MacIntyre reporter.

However, the worst has been the reaction to how Pettersson himself has reacted to his confidence in question. After Tocchet’s diatribe, Pettersson was asked if his trust had become a problem, with the Canucks star attacking journalists in response.

“It’s more annoying to deal with the media,” Pettersson said Sunday.

As expected, the answer to those comments has not been favorable for Pettersson.

A fan even warned that Pettersson potentially became the next Loui Eriksson, a rather hard critic for those who remember Eriksson’s turbulent possession in Vancouver.

Do you agree with Pettersson’s comments? Or do you reflect badly on the Canucks star? Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
