Arizona man accused of mortal shots of his 1 year daughter

Show low, az (ap) – A grand jury of Arizona has accused a man in the fatal shooting of his 1 year daughter, and prosecutors say he carried out the crime with an AR style rifle in front of the girl’s mother.

The accusation issued earlier this month accuses Adam Joseph Montoya, 27, with two serious crimes: second degree murder and child abuse. Montoya declared himself innocent of the charges.

The Public Defensor’s Office of the County of Navajo, which represents Montoya, declined to comment on Monday.

The shooting took place on February 3 in a house in ShowA small mountain community to about 180 miles northeast of Phoenix, said Navajo County Prosecutor’s Office in a statement.

Emergency responders took the baby to a medical center in Show Low, where it was declared dead, prosecutors said.

Both Navajo County Prosecutor and Police Bajo refused to comment more about the case.

Montoya is stopped with a $ 1 million bonus.
