‘Clear Malafide Invent’: Jubilant Foodworks responds to FIR reports against the president

The president of Jubilant FoodWorks, Shyam Sundar Bhartia, has dismissed the accusations against him as “without foundation, false”, according to a statement by the company issued in response to the reports of a FIR against him.

The company clarified that the Superior Court of Bombay has ordered the police to investigate the case for its own merits, but has not approved any judgment on the validity of the complaint.

“The accusations have been made with a clear intention of Malafio,” Bhartia said.

The company also affirmed Bhartia’s commitment to cooperate with the investigating agencies when necessary. However, he refrained from providing additional comments, citing the continuous nature of the probe. “As research in this matter is ongoing, additional comments cannot be made at this stage. SHYAM S. Bhartia has also requested that family privacy is respected,” reads the statement.

Jubilant Foodworks also assured those interested that these developments would not affect the company’s operations.

“These news reports do not have a material impact on the company or its operations,” he said.

The shares of Jubilant Foodworks remained stable, quoting ₹ 679.65, 0.73% more than the previous closure. The company, which operates the main food chains such as Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin ‘Donuts in India, has witnessed a mixed performance recently.

The action reached a maximum of 52 weeks of ₹ 796.75 and a minimum of ₹ 421.05. During the last month, Jubilant Foodworks has seen a marginal decrease of 0.26%, which still does better than the broader SENSEX index, which fell 2.17% during the same period.
