A man broke his jaw inside a nightclub in the city center in what is believed to be an “not caused” attack. The victim was in the Rubber Soul nightclub at Mathew Street on the night of Sunday, December 29 when he was hit on the face three times.

He fell to the floor and the criminals did a short time later. The man went to the hospital the next day, where it was discovered that he had suffered a fractured jaw and nerve damage.

The Merseyside police have now issued CCTV images of a man and a woman who believe they could have information that could help an investigation into the severe assault. The detective inspector Neil Dillon said: “This was a vicious attack and not caused against a man on one night in Liverpool city center.

“I had every right to wait for socializing and enjoying its night without receiving a serious injury that has potentially left it with durable nerve damage.
