The Peterborough Council expands plans to stop dangerous driving

A city council wants to impose applications in nine new locations to tighten traffic crimes, including the ignorance of the signals and lead the incorrect path through the streets of one sense.

Peterborough City Council has launched a Six -week Public Consultation In plans.

A scheme that began in Four locations In February 2024, compliance with traffic improved by 90%, said the local authority.

The Council uses automatic enrollment recognition chambers (ANPR), and fines are sent by mail to people who continue to ignore the restriction.

Additional schemes are:

  • Between Park Road and Church Walk – Only left
  • Park Road to Westgate – Only right
  • Westgate A Lincoln Road – without entry except buses
  • Park Road A Fitzwilliam Street Junction – Without Entrance
  • Misterton to Pennington, Orton – without entry
  • Brewster Avenue, Woodston – Safer School Street
  • Riseholme, Orton – Safer School Street
  • Chapel Street, Stangund – Safer School Street
  • Bourges Boulevard, Millfield – Safer School Street

Previously, the ANPR cameras settled in Long Causeway, Westgate and Queens Drive West in the center of the city of Peterborough.

Councilor Alison Jones, a member of the Housing and Communities Cabinet, said: “Our initial traffic application has been very effective, so we want to see that this continues in other areas.”

The consultation ends on April 8.
