Hartsville Man accused after two dogs attack several people

Hartsville, SC (WMBF) – The police have accused a man of owner of dangerous animals after two dogs in the neighborhood loose a neighborhood for a week.

The Hartsville Police Department confirmed that Saronta Campbell, 49, was accused after two Pit Bulls attacked and persecuted several people in the Rice Street area.

The reports obtained by WmbF News officers were called to the Marion Avenue area on Monday for an animal attack, the victim told the officers that he walked through Rice Street when the two dogs attacked her.

It was taken by EMS to a hospital in the area and declared that two others were injured in the attack.

The report shows that while the officers were looking for the other victims, they witnessed that the two dogs attacked a man in his front courtyard in Rice Street. The man was able to reach his porch and block the dogs, but suffered a little in his leg.

He was treated by EMS but did not go to the hospital, according to the report.

Officers were able to learn from multiple victims that dogs had been chasing and attacking other people for a week.

The witnesses declared that a victim had to defeat the dogs with a stick and jump a fence before taking off. The dogs did not bit it.

One of the victims was able to identify Campbell when the owner of the dogs and the police contacted him. The report declared that Campbell said he was out of the city and said the police “would only have to kill the dogs.”

Police told Campbell that they would need to inform the Police Department upon his return.

The officers had to kill the dogs after they presented a threat to the officers and the public.

Campbell was arrested and accused of possessing dangerous animals. It was reserved at the W. Glenn Campbell detention center, but since then it has been released with a bail of $ 10,000.
