Sergeant JDF accused of assaulting the accused bride

He Jamaica’s defense force (JDF) is still a mother after the police had to intervene in a dispute between one of her soldiers and her girlfriend.

This time, however, the soldier has been accused after he was accused of physically assaulting the woman and pushing a gun in his mouth.

The sergeant of the Personal Lascelles Archibald Burke, 42, has been accused of possession of a firearm with the intention of hurting, assaulting severe body damage and making use of a firearm to commit a serious crime.

Burke, who is from Waterford, St Catherine, was accused after a decision of the Office of the Prosecutor’s Office (ODPP).

Contacted yesterday, JDF Communications officer, Captain Roxene Nickle, said she has not received any information on the subject of the Army.

Burke remains in police custody and his archive will be presented to the Court of Arms today.

The last incident, police said, occurred on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at the bride’s workplace in Rousseau Road in Kingston.

According to the police, around 6:50 PM Burke visited the woman at work where they had a disagreement.

Police said that during an argument, the bride was beaten and kicked several times throughout her body, causing pain, bruises and swelling. He was then pushed against a wall and a forced firearm in his mouth and throat.

Burke left the workplace after the incident and a report was made to the police. After the investigations, the soldier was interviewed in the presence of his lawyer, and a file sent to the MDG that dictated that Burke should be accused.

Last week, the weapon of a 40 -year -old Cabo of JDF was seized after his girlfriend received an accidental shot during a dispute at his home in Crescent Road, Kingston 10.

Police reported that the woman threw stones and bottles to her boyfriend, and he took her firearm licensed for fear of her life. Later he slipped and accidentally gave a round, hitting it on the right leg.

Last week, the JDF said he was waiting for the conclusion of the police investigation into that incident before taking any measure. The efforts to obtain an update on these investigations were useless.
