Canada prioritizes foreign workers with local experience for permanent residence: invest news abroad

The Express Input Program of Canada, a popular immigration route for foreigners seeking permanent employment and residence in the country, is being modified. Canada has announced the raffles and plans based on Express 2025 categories for more draws in Canada to reduce labor shortages.

The two significant modifications in the Express 2025 program are the introduction of a new education category and a special approach to work experience in Canada to request a permanent residence. This means that the Canadian experience class current will be the priority for the Canadian government when it invites foreigners to obtain a permanent residence.

The Canadian Experience class is designed for qualified Canadian workers looking for permanent residence, which requires minimal qualifications in Canadian qualified work experience and language fluidity.

To be qualified for the Canadian experience class, it must have completed at least one year of qualified work paid in Canada (or an equivalent amount of part -time work) during the three years before sending your application. In addition, this work experience must have obtained while working in Canada as a temporary resident.

Voluntary and unpaid internships are not acceptable forms of compensation for their qualified work experience; Instead, you must obtain compensation in the form of salary or commissions.

However, if you have worked without permission and obtained its work experience while temporarily outside Canada, it is not qualified for the Canadian experience class.

The last express draw for the Canadian experience class was held on February 5, 2025 when the invitations to request (ITA) for the permanent residence were issued to 4,000 foreigners, with a cutting score of 521.

Canada’s priority is to attract qualified workers to contribute to the future of Canada, including the transition of temporary residents to permanent residence. Immigration is a significant taxsence to the growth of the Canadian workforce, which represents almost 100% of the country’s total workforce, which helps address labor shortages in the key sectors.
