Detroit’s mother remained without bail in the case of ‘atrocious’ child abuse; Treated son as the ‘garbage’ prosecutor says

A Mother of Detroit was arrested without bail in relation to the death of her 9 -year -old son than prosecutors, according to the defendant, was strangled before being buried in the backyard of a house at the end of last year.

Brandee Pierce, 41, was arrested without Bond after the magistrate called her a danger to the community and a risk of escape.

Pierce stayed mute and, through his lawyer, there was a plea without stopping Friday morning during his reading positions at the 36th District Court.

She was accused of first degree murder, murder for serious crime, first -degree child abuse, evidence manipulation and hiding the death of an individual.

The magistrate sent Pierce to the Court, denying his link after hearing the arguments of a Wayne County assistant who gave horrible details about the final moments that his son was alive.

“The facts of this case are nothing less than Auroces. Zemar King was a 9 -year -old boy who was treated as if it were a piece of garbage,” said prosecutor Tina Ripley.

According to Ripley, the evidence shows that child protection services met with Pierce and his son in April 2024 after a visit to the hospital and that Zemar told him that his mother drowns him and “wants to kill him.”

In October, Pierce supposedly ordered a walmart shovel and car before digging a hole behind his garage in his backyard, said the prosecutor.

On October 24, Ripley said Pierce suffocated Zemar and turned blue. Then he tied his arms and legs and buried him in the hole, said the prosecutor.

“The insensitivity with which the defendant treated Zemar cannot be underestimated,” Ripley said.

Pierce’s defense lawyer said the defendant has no income, he is not employed and suffers disorders. Did not specify which one.

The background history:

Pierce was first arrested during an investigation in Georgia last December by an issue not related to his surviving son. The Detroit police were notified of the case.

On January 6, the Detroit Police was sent to a house in the 19700 block of Woodingham for reports of human remains that are in a shallow tomb.

Pierce was arrested by agents of the Cobb County Sheriff’s office in Georgia on January 10 in relation to the death of his son.

According to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office, Pierce fatally attacked his son around October 24. He left the house where he supposedly buried his son in early November, fleeing to Georgia.

What follows?

Pierce had two scheduled judicial dates, a probable cause conference on March 7 and a preliminary exam on March 13.
