A Luigi Mangione lawyer, the 26 years accused of killing The CEO of Unitedhealthcare last year, tries to throw evidence taken from its backpack and other belongings collected during their arrest, arguing that he was illegally arrested and wanted by the police.

In a motion presented last week in a Pennsylvania court, Mangione’s lawyer, Thomas Dickey, said he seeks to launch more than two dozen articles, including a 3D printed guna false driver’s license, and A notebook Collected by the police when Mangione was arrested at a McDonald’s restaurant in Altoona after intense human hunt.

The presentation reveals specific details of the confrontation of the Local Police and the arrest of Mangione and a detailed list of the materials found in their backpack.

The notebook, the weapon and the false identification are key evidence that the authorities allege Mangione to the Fatal shooting of the CEO of United, Brian Thompson, in the center of Manhattan, on December 4. The notebook supposedly refers to the investor conference, Thompson, was ready to attend and contained “several pages written by hand that express hosts towards the health insurance industry and Waiales executives in particular.” The false New Jersey driver’s license coincident The one who used to reserve a room in the New York shelter, prosecutors said.

In the case of Pennsylvania, Mangione faces firearm and falsification charges in relation to the 3D printed firearm and the false identification supposedly in his possession when he was arrested in Altoona.

Dickey argues in his motion that the Altoona police illegally registered Mangione’s backpack and took other articles without a search warrant. Altoona police officers approached Mangione when we sat at a table in McDonald’s saying that “it seemed suspicious” and that he had stayed too long inside the restaurant. The lawyer said that the officers registered Mangione, took their backpack and other articles and prevented him from leaving the McDonald’s.

Mangione was interrogated by the officers, he was not read his rights of Miranda or “given information about why he was stopped”, for more than 15 minutes, Dickey wrote.

Later, Mangione was asked his name and read his rights of Miranda, said the lawyer. Police then arrested Mangione.

The motion provides a detailed list of other materials found in Mangione’s backpack or in its possession. These articles include a suspicious 3D printed silencer, written notes, a laptop, two jackets, facial masks, an American passport, a false driver’s license of New Jersey, currency and multiple USB electronic storage devices, including one in a necklace, according to the petition.

Mangione lawyers plan to make a similar request for their case in the state of New York.

In an audience last weekMangione’s defense lawyer, Karen Friedman, Agnifilo, said she would seek to exclude evidence from the New York case, and Judge Gregory Carro ordered that motions were presented in April.

In New York, Mangione faces 11 positions, including one of murder in the first grade and two murders in the second degree in the murder of Thompson, along with other positions of weapons and falsification. He declared himself innocent of those charges.

If it is convicted of New York charges, Mangione could face a life imprisonment without probation. He also faces federal charges, including a position to use a firearm to commit a murder. Although prosecutors have not yet indicated that they plan to look for it, Mangione could face the death penalty if he declares himself guilty of the position of federal murder.
