Champions Trophy 2025: England chooses to hit South Africa

The captain of England, Jos Buttler, won the raffle and chose to hit South Africa in his last match of Group B of Champions Trophy Group here on Saturday.

This marks the final appearance of Buttler as the captain of the White Ball of England after giving up after his early departure from the tournament.

England was eliminated from the tournament after losing its first two group games against Australia and Afghanistan.

A victory for South Africa will ensure the first place of the group, ahead of Australia, which advanced to the semifinals after their match against Afghanistan on Friday was eliminated.

England made a change, bringing Saqib Mahmood for the injured pacemaker Mark Wood.

South Africa made two changes, with Heinrich Klaasen and Tristan Stubbs replacing Tony de Zorzi and Temba Bavuma.
