The owner of Plainfield not incorporated killed Wadoe Alfayoumi, 6, and seriously injured the child’s mother.

Prosecutors said he attacked his two tenants in 2023 for his Muslim faith.

Wadee’s mother rented rooms at Czuba’s house for two years before prosecutors claim that Czuba demanded that their Muslim tenants move in the days after the start of the Israel-Famas conflict.

The young man had just celebrated a birthday and was stabbed 26 times, according to the doctor who did the autopsy.

“It was after this child due to the hatred of the Muslim community,” said prosecutor Chris Koch in final arguments.

The prosecutor showed that the knife used to kill Alfayoumi in the Court on Friday morning during the final arguments of the State, reproducing the 911 call to the child, Hanan Shaheen, did, asking for help. The prosecutor also showed images of her wounds while fighting for her life and fought to save her son’s life.

A Will -counting sergeant who transported Czuba that day testified on Thursday. Czuba’s recordings in the rear seat were reproduced in court. He could be heard by commenting on the Israel-Ahamas War, saying:

“I was afraid for my life, my wife.”
“I thought they were going to do with me.”
“They are like infested rats.”
“(She) didn’t tell me she was Muslim.”
“I begged her to go out for three days; she wouldn’t leave.”

The defense lawyers said that the evidence was overlooked and the investigators rushed to trial in the case.

Czuba resigned from his right to testify. Therefore, the closing arguments took place on Friday morning in the case of hate crime that caught national attention.

After closing arguments, the jury of 12 people began their deliberations, at approximately 12:20 pm, a verdict was in approximately an hour later.

The jury found CZUBA guilty of all positions, including first degree murders, attempted murder, aggravated aggression and hate crimes.

When the sun came out in Will’s County Court, Muslim leaders enter Ramadan with a solemn victory.

“It is a time to cry to Wadee, but it is a time to ask what we are doing to ensure that Wadee is the last,” said Amina Barhumi of the Muslim Civic Coalition.

The Muslim organizers spoke after the audience, highlighting the threat of Islamophobia.

“This could have been any of our boys, any of our girls, so it happened that Wadoe Alfayoumi was, but when he was attacked, all our children were attacked,” said Ahmed Rehab of Cair Chicago.

Wadee’s family was in the courtroom, since the horrible moments were detailed along with listening to the 911 call made by the child’s mother while begging for help in the middle of the attack.

Alfayoumi’s father, Odai Alfayoumi, also spoke. The father’s comments were translated from Arabic.

“I pray that this loss is meaningless is the last one that we will see that no child will suffer what my beloved Wadee had to happen,” said Odai Alfayoumi.

Wadee’s cousin, Hela Yousef, recalled one of her last moments with the child.

“My last memory of him was him getting into my bed and hugging, watching an educational video,” said Yousef. “It was a positive memory that I will never forget.”

The surviving victim in the attack, Wadee’s mother, was not in the courtroom when the verdict was transmitted. She has filed a civil lawsuit against Czuba.
