Burnley’s players refuse to shake Milutin Osmajic from Preston after the accusation of racism

Preston, England (AP) – Burnley’s players refused to shake hands with Milutin Osmajic from Preston before his FA Cup game on Saturday in solidarity with his teammate Hannibal Mejbri, who had claimed the Montenegro striker who racially abused him in his previous match.

Mejbri had said that he received the “disgusting” racial abuse of Osmajic, whose team said after his second division game on February 15 that “he strongly refuted the statements.”

On Saturday, during the traditional hands of hands before the game, Burnley players ignored Osmajic, who realized what was happening and withdrew his hand.

Osmajic scored just before part time and then made fun of Burnley’s fans with his celebration. Preston won 3-0 to qualify for the quarterfinals.

Mejbri, International from Tunisia, was not in the squad on Saturday.

At the beginning of this season, Osmajic was suspended by eight games after biting an opponent during a heated match between Preston and Blackburn. Osmajic admitted a violent act of behavior when he bit the Blackburn Owen Beck defender at the end of the game on September 22.
