Sunlive: two seriously injured in Sh2 Crash, Road closed

Update: Hato Hone St John responded at 11:56 AM displaying a significant emergency response, a spokesman said.

“Two helicopters, two ambulances, a quick response unit and a manager were sent to the scene.”

Emergency teams evaluated and treated two patients, one in critical and one in serious condition.

Both were transferred by plane to the Waikato hospital to obtain urgent medical care.

Two people were seriously injured after an accident of two vehicles.

The incident occurred near State Highway 2 East, Nukuhou, Whakatane at 12.40 pm, police said.

State Highway 2 East will be closed, with amusements instead.

Motorists traveling in State Highway 2 must follow a temporary detour due to a road closure.

Two people were trapped in both cars, but were rescued, according to a New Zealand fire spokesman and emergencies.

“Now they are in the care of ambulances,” said the spokesman.

For traffic to the east, the diversion route orders vehicles that turn right to Waimana Road, on the left in Lowe Road, on the left in Bell Road and then to the right to join SH2.

The west traffic will follow the same route in reverse.

The detour is not suitable for trucks, Nzta said.
