Luka Doncic from Lakers sends a sincere message to former Mavs teammate Kyrie Irving

The Dallas Mavericks are staggering after the tests revealed that the star Kyrie Irving has suffered a torn LCA and the rest of the 2024-25 season will be lost. Irving was injured at the end of the first quarter during a trip to the basket where he took a step awkwardly.

It was immediately evident that Irving was dealing with a lot of pain, since they helped the bank. However, he remained on the floor to tear down two free throws before returning to the locker room and being discarded by the rest of the contest.

The brutality stretch continues since the Mavericks will now be without their best player for the rest of the campaign and possibly in the next season. Dallas is up to seven headlines or players of marginalized rotation such as Irving, Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford, Dereck Lively II, PJ Washington, Caleb Martin and Jaden Hardy are dealing with injuries.

Most of those ailments, for any reason, have occurred since Dallas changed Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in early February. Davis fell into his debut after being treated by Doncic. Gafford was injured in the next game and was not much longer until Washington twisted an ankle that continues to give it problems. Martin had a pre -existing hip tension when he was changed to the Mavericks last month. Irving and Hardy were injured on Monday.

Doncic approached many of his former teammates in Dallas, especially Irving, since the two built a strong bond. During their first meeting as opponents last week, the couple were respect for the other before and after the game in Los Angeles.

Shortly after Irving’s injury became public, Doncic sent a sincere message to his friend on social networks.

“You will become stronger my brother,” Doncic wrote on Instagram.

Doncic and Irving have often referred to each other as ‘brother’, which means ‘brother’ in Spanish. Simply show how close the two are really.

It makes sense since Doncic and Irving were teammates for almost two years in Dallas. They helped guide the Mavericks in an epic race towards the NBA finals last year before being short of the Boston Celtics.

Now the rivals on the court, their appreciation for each other away from basketball will take them to play even more when they coincide between the lines.

Last week, Doncic recorded a triple double, while Irving put 35 points when the Lakers beat the Mavericks, 107-99.
