NIA announces Rs 10 lakh reward for information on Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any information leading to the arrest of Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, officials said on Friday.

Anmol, under NIA surveillance for his alleged involvement in an April shooting outside actor Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai, has also been added to the agency’s most wanted list, according to officials.

Nicknamed Bhanu, Anmol is believed to reside in Canada and frequently travels to the United States, and the reward for him was announced last month. He is also suspected to be behind the recent murder of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique in Bandra, Mumbai on October 12.

In connection with the shooting incident outside Khan’s residence, a Mumbai court recently denied bail to one of the accused, noting that the act was committed with “intention or knowledge” to harm Khan at the behest of Anmol. .

Both Lawrence and Anmol Bishnoi, natives of Fazilka in Punjab, are listed as wanted suspects in the case. Lawrence Bishnoi is currently in custody in Sabarmati Jail in Gujarat.

In April, a lookout circular was issued against Anmol, who allegedly claimed responsibility for the shooting outside Khan’s residence. The NIA filed an FIR in August 2022, naming nine accused, including the Bishnoi brothers, of allegedly conspiring to “raise funds, recruit youth for carrying out terrorist activities in Delhi and other regions” and planning “targeted killings of prominent figures “.
