Antiques Road Trip guests’ ‘cheats’ revealed as experts forced to intervene | Television and radio | Entertainment and television world

The beloved reality star, who stars in the stage production of Rita, Sue & Bob Too! – has appeared on some of the biggest television shows in the world.

Some of her most notable appearances include The X Factor, Dancing on Ice and I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!

In 2020, the musician-turned-actor appeared in the celebrity edition of the popular bbc antique show that raises money for charities across the country.

The TV favorite teamed up with pundit Irita Marriott and competed against former Love Island star Chris Hughes, who teamed up with Izzie Balmer.

The dynamic duo explored the quaint antique shops of South Yorkshire for a tea-themed episode, but it didn’t originally start out that way.

In an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, the 36-year-old admitted he may have cheated on the celebrity special. He told us: “I did Antiques Roadshow and I was shocked, I didn’t know what I was looking for.

“I was competing with Chris Hughes, who is a good friend of mine, but I didn’t know what the hell he was looking for. To be honest, I just listened to the experts and tried to make it entertaining.”

The doting father admitted that the suggestions he made on the show were not well received by experts.

He continued: “I was collecting pictures of horses that had been painted by I don’t know who. And they (the experts) said, ‘No, Jake, that’s not an antique,’ and I said, ‘Oh, well, it looks nice.’ “I didn’t really know much about it, but it was a fun show.”

It’s fair to say their cheeky tactics paid off after they narrowly won the competition with just £5.16 between them. But his television mistake hasn’t deterred him from taking part in more afternoon shows in the future.

Jake explained that he would like to prove his intelligence during his next television appearance on a quiz show like Tipping Point or The Chase. The TV personality gushed: “I would love to do Weakest Link, Pointless, Tipping Point, The Chase, everything.

“I told my manager the other day that I haven’t done any quizzes and people probably think I’m a bit stupid, but I’m actually quite interested in general knowledge.

“I think I could do well. I’m not saying I’d beat the Chasers, but I think I’d do well and I love Bradley (Walsh). “Every time I see him, he’s always charming and he’s a funny guy, so I think he’d be a lot of fun.”

Fans will have to stay tuned to see what the X Factor alumni do next. It comes after Jake landed the lead role in the cult classic comedy Rita, Sue & Bob Too! next year.

The cast and crew will travel on a national tour from February 4 to April 12. Speaking about his new role, Jake gushed: “I’m delighted to be joining the brilliant cast of Rita, Sue and Bob Too!

“Regal Entertainments has a fantastic reputation for producing exciting entertainment in Mersyside and I can’t wait to take the show across the UK. Andrea Dunbar’s play is a classic and I can’t wait to play Bob.”
