‘The Simpsons’ creator reveals new episode solves 35-year-old mystery

The iconic yellow family has graced television screens for 35 years.

It seems that ‘The Simpsons’ has no end and fans couldn’t be happier.

The show caused some stress for viewers when they announced that the newest season will open with a “final” episode.

Fortunately, it was not the final episode of the show.

Instead, the episode was a parody that featured the endings of several series, including ‘The Sopranos,’ ‘Breaking Bad,’ ‘Game of Thrones,’ and more.

Al Jean has been the showrunner since season 13, and even after being on the show for over twenty years, he still has questions.

Before the last episode of ‘The Simpsons’, he posted a very cryptic message on X: “This Sunday a new The Simpsons will solve a mystery that has baffled (at least me) since the beginning of the show…”

He also added an image that fans believe shows Grandpa Simpson and Homer’s mother, Mona Simpson.

Naturally, this got fans excited and theories flying.

One person’s suggestion was closed:

Others had more serious speculations:

According to the IMDb synopsis: “A unearthed corpse opens a cold case in Springfield in the 1980s, as well as a passionate relationship between the young grandfather and Agnes Skinner.”

Al Jean’s fellow showrunner Matt Selman has spoken about the actual ending of ‘The Simpsons’ and how they would like to see the series come to an end:

Hopefully, fans won’t have to say goodbye anytime soon.
