Torridge councilor, Len Ford, imprisoned ‘Tirade of Abuse’

A councilor of Devon has been imprisoned for “a diatribe of abuse” against a superior officer of the Council.

Len Ford, a member of the Torridge District Council, said that Legal Chief, Staci Dorey, was “corrupt, dishonest, Hitler and a misfortune for the human race.”

Ford, 64, of Greysand Crescent, Applerore, was imprisoned for 18 weeks in Exeter magistrates on Wednesday after being guilty in December to persistently use a public communication network to cause discomfort, inconveniences and anxiety.

Ford, who will remain in his council position as a member of Applerare, was also declared guilty of harassment without violence.
