Makazole Mapimpi prohibited the incident of the eyes against Cardiff

The South Africa Makazole Mapimpi wing has been prohibited by three games after admitting what made contact “with the eye or eye area” of a cardiff opponent during a game of the United Rugby (URC) championship in January.

Mapimpi, a member of two World Cup winning squads, was involved in a fight with Cardiff Hooker Efan Daniel during the 42-22 victory of Sharks in Cardiff Arms Park on January 25.

He was not punished during the game, but was summoned and at a disciplinary audience, Mapimpi admitted to having committed a crime of red cards.

Mapimpi will miss the Sharks URC games in other bulls of the South African Side on Saturday, February 15 and the consecutive games against the lions.

Disciplinary officials took into account an anterior incident of a similar nature by establishing themselves in the Mapimpi prohibition. It was prohibited for two weeks after being convicted of making contact with the Bordeaux-Bègles Scrum-Half Maxime Lucu eyes in a European Champions Cup match in January 2023.
