Nathan Aspininll wants a surprise change of rules of the premier league darts that would seriously affect it

Nathan Aspininll has asked for a shock rule to the Darts of the Premier League.

It is an interesting call considering that the change of rule would have seen him omit of the competition 2025.

The current PDC Order of Merit sees the four best players that are automatically classified for the eight -people tournament, with the remaining places full of four wildcards.

The event extends from February 6 to May, with Luke Humphries, Luke LittlerMichael Van Gerwen and Rob Cross prepared along with Stephen Bunting, Gerwyn Price, Chris Dobey and Nathan Aspininll.

ASPINALL, 33, nicknamed ‘The Asp’, has suggested that the PDC should consider selecting the eight best players in the world ranking to avoid any confusion, even if that means that the cut would not do.

Speaking about his reason for change, he said: “If it were for me, I would do it (the Premier League darts) The eight best in the world to keep all the things I have passed.

“The disappointment of (winner of the World Grand Prix) Mike de Decker, who is the world No. 24. To save all that ‘is it?’ Top eight, done.

“That is what I would do. I would have missed this year, but I would have taken it.

“In my opinion, if the eight best did or if they did 10 players, then there is no discussion, right? But it’s not that, and I’m buzzing that I’m here.”

Despite being in the 11th place in the order of merit, Aspinall obtained a place in the competition for the third consecutive year.

However, his selection caused criticism, particularly after Decker was overlooked despite his victory in the World Grand Prix in October.

The 2020 runner -up has also asked for the tournament to begin a month later, which would give the players more time to generate impulse before competing in the high profile event.

Aspinall also suggested that the competition be delayed until March

He explained: “I think that if I could honestly make a decision, I would like it to go back a month.

“Start it in the first week of March gives me (the opportunity to) get some professional tours to my credit, make that gain a little more.

“Obviously, I won some games this year from Bahrain, but trying to play more, get some more games to my credit, a little more time on the practice board.

“I have not had much time to practice because I lost two weeks or so due to a blow in my elbow, but I charge life in the Premier League, playing week after week.

“I have already said that I am committed to the tour this year, so what better way to start on Thursday night surpassing the world number one, potentially two or three in the world, and then go in week one?

“That would be a great statement and a great impulse of trust.”
