Marco Star Unni Mukundan attacks the closure of the Kerala producers association industry; says ‘It’s my right …’

Unni Mukundan is, without a doubt, one of the most commented Malayalam actors in recent times, mainly due to the success of his Marco film. The actor-producer had recently held a press conference to promote his latest film, Get Set Baby, where he also addressed the recent call for a closure of the entire industry by the Kerala film producers association.

Speaking to the media, Malikappuram actor said he believed that the actors have the right to use their own money to make films of their choice. In addition, he added that the decision to make a film is personal and cannot be questioned by anyone. Unni Mukundan He said that he, as a producer, wants to make good films, and it is his right to make films of his choice with the money he has earned.

The actor added that no one should have an opinion on how he spends his own money, pointing out that he is only respectful for others not to interfere with that decision. He added that he does not have the obligation to discuss profits or losses with anyone.

Mukundan also challenged the notion that an actor should only adhere to the performance, saying that the statement is not correct. He pointed out that it has not been written anywhere that only a certain set of people can make a film. The actor gave the example of people who leave him to work in films and added that he does not charge great remuneration and works for his own company.

He Frame The actor’s comments arrive in the middle of an ongoing debate in the Malayalam film industry, in which the Kerala Film Producers Association (KFPA) announced that there would be a closure of the entire industry from July 1. The closure is to protest the exorbitantly high remuneration charged by the actors and also demand that the entertainment and GST tax be eliminated from the industry.

Several prominent names, including producer Antony Perumbavoor, have spoken against the decision of a closure. On Monday, February 24, the Association of Malayalam films artists (AMMA) had also met to discuss the matter. They revealed that the closure is not a practical solution and are willing to participate in discussions about remuneration.

The film also presents Nikhila Vimal, Chemban Vinod Jose, Shyam Mohan, Surabhi Lakshmi and more in crucial papers. The film has been written by Yv Rajash and Anoop Ravindran, while Vinay Govind has directed it.

Sajiv Soman, Prakshali Jain and Suunil Jain have financed the project under the flag of Skanda Cinemas and Kingsmen Productions, while Alex J. Pulickal has started the camera for the film. Sam CS has composed the music of the film, with Arju Benn taking care of the movie edition. The film has obtained positive answers at the time of launch.
