Arrest police 245 alleged criminals in Abuja, recover hard drugs, dangerous weapons

No less than 245 alleged criminals have been arrested as the police command of the Federal Capital, FCT, intensifies their repression against criminal activities in the territory.

A statement from the spokesman for the command, Josephine Adeh, said between February 6 and February 23, 2025, the police carried out a series of raids led by intelligence aimed at criminal hiding places, abandoned buildings and black points throughout the capital of the nation.

He pointed out that high -impact operations were executed with focus on crimes prone areas, including Kurudu, Dutse Alhaji, Karshi, Kubwa, Apo, Wuye, Galadimawa, Iddo, Kuje, Zuba, Asokoro, Karu, Byazhin and other strategic locations, which lead to the arrests of the 245 suspects.

Josephine said that suspects are currently experiencing exhaustive profiles and detection, stating that the guilty found will be processed in accordance with the law.

The operations, according to her, led him to the recovery of a substantial cache of dangerous weapons, illegal substances and articles linked to criminal activities, including a large number of dry leaves suspected of being marijuana.

Three axes and three machetes are also recovered, often used in violent crimes, six small glue tubes, five bongs handmade, materials commonly associated with substance abuse, eight pairs of scissors, five identification cards and several suspected pills of being illegal substances.
