Prepare for snow and effect showers on the upper peninsula until Saturday morning

The National Meteorological Service issued a weather alert at 2:11 AM Est on Saturday for Lake Effect Snow and Showers until 7 AM Est for Baraga, Marquette, Alger, Luce and Schoolcraft counties.

“Lake Effect Bands, some with brief blackout conditions in the snow drifting and blowing the snow will continue to slowly decrease this morning until 7 in the morning in some of the heaviest snow bands, the snowfall rates will be briefly until half -inch per hour. If you conduct, prepare for rapid changes in visibility and for snow drift of roads and drive accordingly, ”says the weather service.
