Rear skier after tree collision in Park City Mountain

Park City, Utah-a 37-year-old male skier of Arizona was seriously injured on Saturday in Park City Mountain Resort, authorities said.

Park City Mountain Ski Patrol responded to the incident on an advanced path in Tombstone Express, which, according to reports, implied a collision between a skier and a tree. The Park City fire department was waiting, but had no direct contact with the patient.

According to the head of the Darren Nelson Battalion, the role of the Fire Department was limited to being in case the air ambulance could not land on the mountain. The injured skier was transferred directly from the mountain by helicopter to the Hospital of the Utah University in Salt Lake City.

“All our Park City Mountain team extends our sincere sympathies for the family and friends of our guests,” said DeImbrada Walsh, vice president and Operations Director of Park City Mountain.

There have been no updates about the current condition of the skier.
