Man with life-threatening injuries after being hit by car in Ballpark

SALT LAKE CITY — A man is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in the Ballpark neighborhood Friday night. The driver is at the scene collaborating with the investigation.

At 7:45 p.m., officers received reports of a crash on State Street near 1110 South. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 62-year-old woman was driving southbound when she struck the 22-year-old man while crossing the street.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Southbound traffic will be detoured to Main Street at Herbert Avenue; The detour is expected to remain in effect for several hours.
