Witnesses say fight at apartment complex ended with man getting his hand cut off

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A fight at the Nob Hill apartment complex Saturday afternoon ended with one person stabbed and two cars vandalized. A witness told us his side of the story.

It all started when he says his brother-in-law was trying to go to work and there was a big party in the Wallace Road parking lot. He asked the group to calm down, which started a fight.

TRANSLATED “The group got angry and tried to attack him, there were eight people, then my brother-in-law ran away, he escaped and in the chase they damaged his car,” said the witness.

At some point he says they caught up with him and someone pulled out a machete. During the fight, he says one man cut another man’s hand.

Police confirmed someone was taken to hospital with stab wounds.

The witness says a change is needed at the apartment complex.

TRANSLATED “What happened is really bad. We are tired of this behavior. “I don’t know what happens to some people,” he said.

Neighbors we spoke to said it was terrifying to have all this violence, especially with so many families living in the area.

TRANSLATED “They don’t remember that there are many families here who came to live a better life,” said the witness.

Police are still investigating. There is no updated information on the victim’s condition.
