Council Bluffs man sentenced for murder in 2023 shooting near Blair High School

BLAIR, Neb. (WOWT) – The man sentenced for Fatal shooting near Blair High Schoolleading authorities in a four day chase after the shooting, he was sentenced on Friday.

Elijah Logan, 24, was sentenced to life in prison on the charge of first-degree murder.

Logan went to trial for an incident on May 12, 2023 that left Jordan Ely, 34, dead and the mother of Logan’s son injured.

Logan was convicted on eight charges including first-degree murder, first-degree assault, robbery, burglary, child abuse and endangering the life of a child.

Investigators said Logan also shot a woman at least twice in the legs, and that she was holding the baby at the time, but the child was not injured.

Logan then fled the scene and was on the run for four days prior. surrendering.
