Laredo fans celebrate tribute to Liam Payne

LAREDO, Texas (KGNS) – Fans of former One Direction member Liam Payne gathered Thursday night, October 25, at Independence Hills Park to honor him.

Payne, who died last Wednesday after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, was remembered by fans around the world.

The Laredo event invited fans to bring candles, flowers, food and One Direction merchandise. Dressed in One Direction or Liam Payne t-shirts, many fans wore red to show their respect. At 7 pm, they released balloons in memory of Payne, followed by a moment of quiet while his songs played.

The reunion ended with candles and shared memories, as fans said goodbye to Payne.
