Tennessee Titans coach offers cryptic update on Will Levis

like him Tennessee Titans prepare for their Week 8 matchup on the road against the Detroit Lionsquarterback Will Levis’ status is still up in the air.

Levis has been working to return from a shoulder injury. While he hasn’t been ruled out for this week’s game, there haven’t been many positive updates on his chances of playing either.

On Friday, head coach Brian Callahan spoke with an update about Levis. It may be an update, but it is an extremely cryptic update.

“We have a pretty good idea of where we’re headed,” Callahan said. “We’ll be ready to play them on Sunday. Either (Levis) is a starter or he’s not. He’ll be inactive if he’s not a starter.”

Basically, the current state of the quarterback situation is that if Levis starts, he starts. On the other hand, if Levis is not a starter, Mason Rudolph will play in his place.

So far this season, Levis has had a poor performance in his second year. He has played five games, although he left early in one of them. The 25-year-old quarterback has completed 66.4 percent of his pass attempts for 699 yards, five touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Obviously, turnover numbers have been a big concern for the Titans.

As for Rudolph, he has been solidbut not great, replacing Levis in the lineup. He has completed 59.6 percent of his passes for 300 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Needless to say, Tennessee’s offense has been tough to watch. They haven’t been able to move the ball regularly and have lost it a lot.

Looking ahead, Levis could actually play for his position the rest of the season. If he continues to struggle and shows no signs of overcoming his struggles, the Titans are being called consider replacing it.

Hopefully, Levis can get back to 100 percent and start turning his year around. In his rookie season, he showed great flashes of having a big arm and star potential. This season, that has not been seen anywhere.

We’ll be sure to have more updates on Tennessee’s quarterback situation heading into this week’s game against the Lions as they become available.
