Olivia Rodrigo Remembers Feeling ‘Terrified’ the First Night of Her GUTS World Tour (Exclusive)

Olivia Rodrigothe world tour of VISCERA It’s the second of her career, but that doesn’t mean she wasn’t “terrified” before taking the stage at the Acrisure Arena in Palm Springs, California, in February 2024.

When PEOPLE caught up with the “Bring him back!” Singer, 21, at the red carpet premiere of Netflix’s Nya EAST. Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour On Friday, Oct. 25, she recalled being “terrified” and thinking she should have practiced more that night.

“I was like, ‘I should have rehearsed more… like I need three more weeks to rehearse this,'” he tells PEOPLE exclusively. “But I was like, ‘Oh, well, I’m going to continue.’ “

After the show, Rodrigo had “such a beautiful moment” with his parents and friends offstage.

“I remember coming off the stage and my mom, my dad and all my friends were there to support me and cheer me on,” Rodrigo says. “We drank champagne. And it was such a beautiful moment. I will remember it forever.”

Rodrigo adds that his hands shook due to nerves when he played the piano during the first shows of the tour. “I was so afraid of making a mistake,” she tells PEOPLE. “And the last few, I feel like I could really sit back and just have fun.”

He VISCERA The world tour documentary was directed by James Merryman and will premiere on Netflix on October 29.

“I am very excited to share the VISCERA World Tour with my fans.” Rodrigo said in a statement when the special was announced earlier this month.. “For those of you who didn’t get the chance to rock out in person, you can now have the best seats in the house! And to the fans who cheered, screamed and danced with me, I’m so glad we get to do it all again!

He VISCERA world tour began in Palm Springs on February 23, with Chappell Roan as opening act for Rodrigo. The Breeders, Remi Wolf, PinkPantheress and Benee also performed on the tour.

Rodrigo concluded his 2024 dates in Australia this week. Their tour resumes in March with stops in Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Colombia. On June 30 and July 1, 2025, she will perform two shows in Manchester, England, which were postponed this year due to “technical problems” at the headquarters.
