Florence woman dies in car crash in Fayette County

A Florence woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash Friday morning in Fayette County, according to state police.

Authorities identified the victim as 28-year-old Madalyn G. Powell. Powell was fatally injured when the 2009 Kia Rio she was driving left the road and struck a culvert. Powell was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident occurred on Alabama State Route 13 near the 237 mile marker, about seven miles north of Berry.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the incident. No other information is available at this time.
