Florida ‘suitcase killer’ discovers fate after boyfriend’s murder as 911 call captures victim’s condition

TO flowery woman accused of suffocating her boyfriend inside a suitcase was found guilty of murder on Friday after a 10-day trial.

Sarah Boone, 46, was arrested and charged with the death of her boyfriend, Jorge Torres, 42, in February 2020 at her winter park, floridadepartment.

After 90 minutes of deliberation, jurors agreed on the verdict against him Friday night. He had previously pleaded not guilty to charges of second degree murder.

Prosecutors say Boone stuffed Torres into a suitcase while he was drunk playing hide-and-seek, beat him with a baseball bat and then left him overnight until he died of asphyxiation.

Graphic cell phone video of Torres struggling in the green suitcase was shown and remained central during the trialalong with the couple’s dysfunctional relationship.

In the video of Torres inside the suitcase, he can be heard saying, “Sarah, I can’t breathe, baby.”

“That’s up to you,” she replies.

“Sarah, I can’t breathe,” he said again.

“That’s up to you,” Boone responded.

On February 24, 2020, at 1:01 p.m., Boone called 911 to report that her boyfriend, Torres Jr., was dead inside her apartment.

In the audio, obtained by WOFLshe is heard saying: “My boyfriend is dead.”

She told 911 operators that she and her boyfriend were “playing last night and I put him in a suitcase and we were playing.”

“It’s kind of a game of hide-and-seek,” he said.

She said she “blacked out” and woke up to find Torres unconscious and not breathing in the suitcase.

“I don’t know what happened,” he said. “There was blood coming out of his mouth. He’s purple.”

Boone said he attempted CPR.

“Nothing happened. He’s purple,” he said.

She is expected to be sentenced Dec. 2 and faces life in prison, the Orange County State’s Attorney’s office said. in a launch.

In his defense, Boone took the stand during the trial in his own defense, claiming that he had no intention of killing Torres.

She also claimed that her actions were in self-defense and alleged that Torres had previously abused her and that she had no intention of harming him.

Orange County prosecutors disagreed, writing in a statement that her testimony was “contradicted by statements she made and video evidence that showed her taunting the victim as he pleaded to be released from the suitcase.”
