Report: 10-year-old girl was ‘terrified’ Tara Sykes would kill her if she didn’t kill baby

Now that Pensacola woman Tara Sykes has been arrested for allegedly trying to get a 10-year-old girl to murder a 2-month-old baby, a report reveals that the girl obeyed Sykes out of fear of being killed.

Sykes is currently charged with attempted murder while engaging in aggravated felonies. child abuse after the Department of Children and Families discovered that he allegedly used the chat feature in the online game Roblox to convince a 10-year-old girl to drown, burn and drop her 2-month-old baby to death. Escambia County sheriff’s deputies found out Oct. 17 when the boy had a forensic interview at Gulf Coast Kid’s House.

When the 10-year-old girl spoke to investigators, she told them that she “was terrified” of Sykes and that she “felt that if she didn’t follow instructions, Sykes would hurt or kill her, too.” Sykes also ordered the girl to kill the 10-year-old girl’s two temporary guardians and her adult daughter by “slitting their throats” and setting bed sheets on fire to burn down the house, according to the report.

Amtrak is bringing passenger rail service to Mobile, could Pensacola be next?

U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg received a warm welcome Tuesday afternoon in Mobile, Alabama, when he arrived to help break ground on a train platform needed to accommodate Amtrak passenger rail service along the Gulf Coast from Alabama to Louisiana.

Buttigieg and others who spoke before putting the shovel in the ground spoke about the high level of multi-entity cooperation necessary to carry out a project that has been discussed ever since. Hurricane Katrina It devastated the Gulf Coast almost 20 years ago. When service resumes between Mobile and New Orleans, possibly early next year, it will be for the first time since 2005.

“We have a lot to celebrate today,” Buttigieg said, crediting the Biden-Harris administration for creating an infrastructure spending package that set aside $178 million to fund the passenger rail opportunity in three states.

He said $70 million of the funds have been allocated to be spent in downtown Mobile for the planned platform, track work, signage and improvements to existing infrastructure.

Pensacol residents may notice some familiar faces in Prime Video’s new baking miniseries, “Killer Cakes,” which began streaming for free for Prime members this month.

Among the eight hopeful bakers vying to win a $20,000 cash prize was Shanelle Long, executive cake artist at J’s Bakery and Cafe, at 2014 N. 12 Ave., and her baking partner, Eszter Summerlin, home baker and owner of Eszti personalized cakes formerly based in Gulf Breeze.

The fast-paced competition, created by Blumhouse Television and “Cake Boss” creators High Noon Entertainment, pits four teams of two against each other to “create cakes so disgusting, so disturbing and so realistic, they look like nightmares” with hope. to impress (and terrify) the judges. Matthew Lillard, known for his roles in horror films such as “Scream,” “Five Nights at Freddy’s” and “Scooby-Doo,” hosted the competition.

A coastal neighborhood in Santa Rosa Island with a small public beach that is popular with families is losing ground to erosion and the problem is expected to worsen unless efforts are made to mitigate it. The board of the Santa Rosa Island Authority (SRIA) is considering various options to address current erosion.

According to coastal science and engineering company Foth/Olsen, the western flank of Sharp Point has eroded significantly since the 1990s.

Much of the excitement surrounding Florida’s Nov. 5 general election centers around two of six constitutional amendments: Amendment 3, which aims legalize marijuana for recreational purposesand Amendment 4which would limit government interference with abortion rights.

Before voters get to those questions on their own voteThey will be asked if they think two Florida Supreme Court justices should keep their seats.

Both justices are newly appointed, meaning they must run to keep their seats in general elections that occur more than a year after their appointment.

If they maintain their seats, the two magistrates, renatha francisco and Meredith Sassoeach would serve another six-year term.
