Morning Joe criticizes media coverage of Hunter Biden’s pardon

good morning joe hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski criticized the mainstream media for its “hysterically unbalanced” coverage of the president Joe Biden decision to forgive his son, hunter biden, calling the New York Times –among others– for being “completely out of tune with reality.”

Despite Biden’s repeated assurances that he would not intervene in his son’s legal problems, the president announced a “full and unconditional” pardon for Hunter Biden on Sunday.

On MSNBC, however, media coverage of the decision was exaggerated. The hosts interviewed the guest. David WeigelSemafor journalist, who had written an article about how the measure had “divided” the Democrats. During the conversation, Scarborough and Brzezinski criticized the media’s focus on the pardon and ignored “what has happened on the Trump side.”

Brzezinski began: “No matter what you think of this pardon, the coverage of this is like… I mean, if you look at what’s happened on Trump’s side, especially if you compare the pardons that Trump has granted himself, it’s always then …seems so hysterically unbalanced!

He added: “I just… you know, when you read how they’re covering this and then you look at the things that are happening on the other side, it’s, again, completely out of step with reality.”

Scarborough joined in and named several major outlets, warning that Democrats were frustrated by how publications were “exploiting” the pardon story.

And Dave, that’s something you’re hearing. I know you’re not a media critic, but I know you’ve heard this complaint. Know, The New York TimesToday’s top six stories online were about forgiveness. you looked Washington Post yesterday you were expecting something like ‘THE WAR IS OVER’ in massive headlines.”

The same day, Donald Trump said he was going to nominate a guy who said he had a list of enemies he was going to go after and was going to arrest journalists! I don’t remember such big headlines when donald trump commuted the sentence roger stonethey then allowed him to lead the Stop the Steal campaign and later pardoned him.

Again, I’m not asking you to take sides here, I’m just saying to talk about the frustration many Democrats are feeling The New York Times, Washington Posthe Wall Street Journalmany traditional organizations are expanding this to a size that they believe is really disproportionate given everything that Donald Trump has done in the past and what he is doing now.

Watch it above on MSNBC.
