Police intervene in a youth fight in the Five Mile settlement

Police were sent to quell a fight between two groups of youths on Kanage Street in the Five Mile settlement in Port Moresby during New Year’s celebrations.

The altercation involved burning tires and breaking empty bottles in the streets, behaviors commonly associated with this type of confrontation.

Police have urged the public to celebrate the New Year peacefully and responsibly, stressing that activities such as breaking bottles and burning objects on the road are not only dangerous but also illegal.
