Beaten and dragged by the hair: two schoolgirls confront each other ‘over the same boy’ in UP

A video of two girls fighting over a boy went viral on social media. The police took note of the video and began an investigation.

Two teenage girls got into a fistfight on a road in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh, after discovering that they both liked the same boy from their school.

The video of the incident that occurred in Aminagar Sarai locality has gone viral on social media. Police said an investigation into the incident is underway.

What did the viral video show?

The video showed both Class 10 girls, dressed in school uniforms, engaging in a violent altercation (hitting, kicking and pulling each other’s hair) as other students and passers-by tried to intervene and separate them.

The two girls reportedly liked a boy who studied at their school. They talked to the boy regularly and, when one day they discovered that they both liked him, they got into a fight outside of school.

Police said they had become aware of the video and would investigate the incident.
