Hockey: Alexandria teams defeat St. Cloud Crush – Alexandria Echo Press

The Alexandria Cardinals hockey teams earned victories over St. Cloud Crush on Thursday. The Alexandria women’s team earned a 6-1 victory on the road, while the Alexandria men’s team earned a 4-1 victory.

The Alexandria women’s team scored twice in each period of its MAC victory in St. Cloud on Jan. 2, 2025. Lilly Dutton finished with a hat trick, while Lauren Hornstein, Skylar Thorson and Emma Ramstorf all scored once. Tayler Treat had a pair of assists, while Ramstorf, Anna Korynta and Cadence Ellingson had one each.

The Alexandria girls team held a 34-28 advantage in shots on goal in Thursday’s victory. Rachael Mohr got the win in net for Alexandria with 27 saves.

In the boys’ win at Runestone Community Center in Alexandria, Alexandria scored early in all three periods in their wire-to-wire victory. Brody Berg scored a pair of goals for the Alexandria boys team, while Miles Breitzman and Aidan Schneiderhan each scored one.

Evan Klimek and Nik Schultz had a pair of assists in the Alexandria men’s team’s win over St. Cloud, while Breitzman, Grady Suchy, Jacob Nicholson and Grady Olson each had one.

The Alexandria men’s team (4-6) had a 26-24 shot at the top of the goal over St. Cloud Crush on Jan. 2, 2025. Grady Loch earned the win in net for Alexandria with 23 saves that night.

The Alexandria women’s team plays at Roseau (14-3) at 4 pm on Saturday, then hosts Fergus Falls (9-5-1) at 5 pm on Tuesday.

The Alexandria boys team hosts Fergus Falls (7-4) at 7:15 pm on Tuesday.
