Four -year -old girl and mother seriously wounds when they are run over by car in Woonsocket

Woonsockeche-A 4-year-old Woonsocket girl and her mother were seriously injured when they were run over by a car in Hamlet Avenue on Monday morning, said Woonsockt Police chief Thomas F. Oates III.

The girl was taken in ambulance to Landmark Medical Center in Woonsockt and then flew to Hasbro’s Children’s Hospital in Providence, Oates said. I was in critical condition on Monday afternoon, according to Oates.

His 32 -year -old mother was taken by ambulance to the Rhode Island hospital, Oates said. He was in serious condition, although his injuries do not seem to be mimes of life, he said.

They walked in a school zone on Hamlet Avenue at 7 in the morning when a car hit a snow bank and then diverted in them, Oates said. They walked near the intermediate schools of Hamlet and Villa Nova, according to Oates.

The department’s accident reconstruction unit is investigating, Oates said. The driver, a 25 -year -old man from Woonsocket, was released after an interview at the police station. No charges have been presented, but the investigation is not complete, according to Oates.
