Zhenhao Zou: Jury showed student clips allegedly violating women

Mr. Zou, from Elephant and Castle in southern London, studied for a master’s degree at the University College in London from 2019 to 2021 before starting a doctorate at the same university.

In the first clip shown in the court, the defendant can be seen by placing the camera to aim a naked woman who is motionless in a bed in a room where a blind is drawn. Zou, whose defense is that the meeting was consensual, then continues to have sex with her.

The woman told her to stop, the court heard.

In the second clip, which took place in what prosecutors said it was the same room, the defendant was seen again having sex with a woman a while she told her to stop, according to the court.

It is not known when the clips were filmed or who is a woman.

Giving evidence, Det with Jack Woods told the jury: “There seems to be multiple scratches in (Mr. Zou) on both sides.”

Det with Woods said the clips seemed to have been filmed in Woburn Place near Russell Square in downtown London, where Mr. Zou lived from September 2019 to September 2020.

They were given breaks after the short clips were reproduced, and more videos will be shown later on Thursday.
